Romeo and Juliet

 

The story written by William Shakespeare is very famous for its romance but actually the play is a tragedy. The story starts with Romeo Montague who was a teenager searching for his ladylove. His first love was rejected by the young girl named Rosaline. So Romeo is moping around as if his world is going to end. His best friend Mercutio consoled him and advised him to forget about her. His friends took him for a party so that he will cheer up.

In the party Romeo met a young and beautiful girl named Juliet Capulet. They had a chat for a while and they felt in love with each other. After the party, Romeo breaks into Juliet's backyard where he finds Juliet sitting in the balcony talking to herself about him. In a time period of 5hours, they had a chat, proposed each other and decide to get married as they felt their love was true.

Next morning, Juliet sends her nurse to meet Romeo and to find about their secret marriage arrangements. With everything set up they met at the Friar's place and got married. The story's sad part begins when Romeo meets Tybalt, Juliet's cousin.

Romeo meets Tybalt soon after his marriage. Romeo in a spirit of wedded bliss is not ready for a fight. His best friend Mercutio decides to fight with him. Romeo steps in when he witness his best friend wounded and pursues and slays Tybalt.

On the other hand government is sick of all the small fights, decides to banish Romeo from Verona . He can not imagine a life away from his love, Juliet. Convinced by the Friar, he decides to escape; he spends a night in Juliet's chamber secretly and escapes the next day.

Juliet meets Friar Laurence for help. Friar with good intention plans a drama so that Romeo and Juliet can escape from all the troubles of Verona . He cooks up a potion which will help her sleep for about 2-40 hours. He then will hide her in a tomb so that Romeo can come and nab her. Friar promises to send a messenger to tell Romeo about the plan.

Romeo doesn't get the plan as the messenger was not able to reach him, instead he hears of Juliet's death. Believing Juliet to be dead, he drinks poison to kill himself. Juliet wakes up a few moments' later after Romeos death and seeing Romeo is dead; she grabs a knife and kills herself.
