Brenda Jacksonis an African American multi-genre author of over one hundred and fifty romance titles, all with intriguing storylines, believable characters, and loads of passion. Best known for captivating readers with her intense and emotional stories, Brenda has become one of the most highly regarded and acclaimed African American authors in the world.

Following encouragement from her family and friends, in 2002, Brenda began writing her first novel, Always a Cowboy, which was released three years later. Since then, she has published multiple series and stand-alone novellas and novels for St. Martin's Press, Harlequin, Kimani Romance, and over a dozen other romance and women's fiction publishers. Her enduring appeal comes from her romantic and sensual storylines, colorful characters, and an ability to convey genuine emotion to her readers.

Born in Jacksonville, Florida, and raised in southeast Georgia, Brenda has spent the majority of her life in the region, though her writing has taken her from coast to coast. She began writing her first book while working as an architect in St. Augustine, carefully crafting her stories from the tips of her own fingers, even though she never took a class in writing. Her first book sold out on the first day of publication and was featured in numerous publications and on several best-seller lists.

In addition to her captivating and inspiring characters, Brenda is also known for creating diverse book covers that feature strong African American leads, often with Caucasian models as secondary characters. To provide strength and empowerment to women, she has written stories with African American heroines as main characters, highlighting issues such as domestic violence, going against the odds, and overcoming adversity.

Along with receiving numerous awards and accolades, such as the 2006 Original Heart Award for Always a Cowboy, the 2009 Romance Slam Jam Award for Permanent Fatherhood, and the 2010 Romance Slam Jam Award for Dangerous Obsession, Brenda also lives by a set of proactive principles she applies when she's writing.

Instead of letting her characters go through uncharacteristic actions, she incorporates moral lessons throughout her stories while using role models to inspire young women. She believes firmly in trusting God's plan and encourages women to never give up their dreams. To always strive to be successful and maintain integrity, to take risks and never to settle for second best.

In the past decade, Brenda has become one of the most recognizable and successful African American authors, continuing to write romantic stories that capture the hearts and minds of readers around the globe. She's created a legacy of strong and powerful African American characters that her readers, both men and women, adults and children, look up to and can relate to. In addition to her novels and novellas, Brenda also occasionally blogs and speaks at various events throughout the country.
