Debbie Dadey is a children's author who is best known for her series, The Adventures of the Bailey School Kids. Born in West Virginia, Dadey has an extensive and inspiring career in literature and magazines. To date, she has written over 130 books, most of them geared towards young children. Through her writing, Dadey has inspired children and adults alike to explore the imaginative world of reading.

Early in her career, Dadey wrote stories for the popular magazines, Jack and Jill, and Humpty Dumpty. She was a contributing editor for Highlights magazine and wrote a column for Parents magazine. In 2000, Lauren published the first installment of her Charlie and Lola series, I Am Not Sleepy and I Will Not Go to Bed. The book centers around the antics of the two siblings and was just the beginning of what would become a much larger empire. The series won multiple awards and was adapted into an animated television show for the BBC and Disney Channel. They became an international sensation and launched Lauren into superstardom.

Although her work can be found in many collections, Debbie Dadey is most renowned for her writing of the Adventures of the Bailey School Kids series.
