Ben Aaronovitch

Ben Aaronovitch is a British author most famous for the fantasy and science fiction series 'Rivers of London'. The series follows the adventures of Peter Grant, a young police officer in the London Metropolitan Police Service. He teams up with a partner, Abigail, to investigate a magical criminal underworld in the city.

Aaronovitch wrote the series after spending time in a Computer Science degree in college. His original plan was to become a computer programmer, but he was drawn to writing instead. His expertise in computers became a great asset in writing the series, as it allowed him to fully understand what technology could and could not do in relation to fantasy and science fiction. Before writing the Rivers of London series, Aaronovitch wrote several Doctor Who novels in the mid-1990s. He also wrote several stand-alone books, including Original Sins, Invincible, and The Vanishing Globe.

Rivers of London was Aaronovitch's first major success. It quickly became a best-selling book as well as a critically acclaimed television series. The book was praised for its unique and clever combination of police drama, fantasy, and science fiction. Aaronovitch also wrote several spin-off books from the Rivers of London series, such as The Hanging Tree and The Furthest Station. The spin-off books follow Peter Grant and Abigail as they investigate further supernatural and unusual crimes.
Aaronovitch has also written a series of non-fiction books, such as Witchfinders and Wintervention. These books explore the history of witchcraft and magic in Britain, as well as how technology provides evidence for mysterious occurrences. Aaronovitch's works have been translated into several languages, including French, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. He has become a popular writer in recent years, with both fantasy and non-fiction fans alike. All in all, Aaronovitch has written a number of books that have resonated with his readers. The Rivers of London series has been hailed as one of the greatest fantasy and science fiction series of all time.
