Born in the year 1925 in Boston, Alice Parker is an American composer, arranger and conductor. She started composing in her high school and received her master?s degree from Juiliard School where she did choral conducting with Robert Shaw.

Melodious Accord, a non-profit group was founded by her in the year 1985 which presents choral concerts, workshops, symposia. She continues to perform sacred anthems, secular anthems, song cycles and string quartets. She is the recipient of five honorary doctorates and the Smith College Medal.
